GESTIÓN DEL RIESGO POR DESASTRE Resumen: La metodología oficial para el componente ambiental dentro del ordenamiento ambiental territorial de Costa Rica fue publicada en el 2006 en La Gaceta, Decreto ? 32967 - MINAE y establece a los Índices de Fragilidad Ambiental (IFAs), como método para caracterizar, diagnosticar, evaluar, proponer y planificar todo lo referente a la variable ambiental de un territorio dado. Los IFAs serán la metodología por valorar en este trabajo, especialmente el vínculo que existe entre estos y las amenazas naturales que analizan. En lo referente a la Gestión del Riesgo, según el Decreto, los IFAs pretenden incorporar las áreas que pueden ser afectadas periódicamente por diferentes eventos naturales, sin embargo la información requerida para este tipo de análisis no se encuentra disponible, por lo que resultados de los IFAs Integrados siguiendo la metodología original no muestran lo anteriormente dicho, representado en los mapas finales. Se tomó como base el análisis de IFAs realizado para el cantón de Liberia, por el grupo GeoSig Ambiental, en este trabajo se pretende generar un IFA Integrado Propuesto que considere de una mejor manera las zonas bajo amenaza The official methodology in Costa Rica for the Environmental topic in Land Use Planning was published during 2006, in La Gaceta, Decree ? 32967 - MINAE and establish the Environmental Fragility Indexes (IFAs), as the method for characterizing, diagnosing, evaluating, proposing, and planning everything related to the environmental variable in a given territory. An IFA Analysis elaborated in Liberia, by the consultant GeoSigambiental was taken as the baseline in this study, which pretends to generate a Proposed Integrated IFA that considers in a better way the areas under threat
