Resumen: Este trabajo resume los resultados de la identificación de diversos tipos de vulnerabilidad en las comunidades Tamarindo y Playa Langosta. La exposición del ser humano a amenazas ha aumentado en el sector y sigue aumentando en esta región turística en constante desarrollo y, por tanto, es necesario conocer la susceptibilidad de la población a ser impactada por eventos naturales. El nuevo conocimiento contribuirá a identificar el riesgo y reducir el impacto de las amenazas en las comunidades mencionadas. La investigación requirió estudios de campo y la aplicación de encuestas. De todos los tipos de vulnerabilidad investigados, los más importantes de área estudiada son la ideológica y la educativa.

This work summarizes the results of a vulnerability survey carried out in the Tamarindo and Playa Langosta communities. The exposure of human being to hazards has increased and continue increasing in this touristic coastal area that is under development. Therefore, it is necessary to know the susceptibility of the population exposed to these natural threats. The acquired knowledge in this study contributes to identify the risk and reduce the impact of the hazards in the aforementioned communities. The research required an analysis of aerial photographs, field studies and surveys. Of all the types of vulnerability investigated, the most important in the studied área are the ideological and the educational.
