Resumen: El presente artículo pretende recopilar algunos resultados de investigaciones sobre vulnerabilidades, amenazas y capacidades ante eventos adversos en los distritos de Cóbano, Paquera y Lepanto, pertenecientes al cantón de Puntarenas. Para esto se realizó una revisión bibliográfica que permitió localizar información del tema en cuestión, donde se pueden visualizar algunos escenarios de riesgos. Con este panorama las personas e instituciones competentes pueden tener un respaldo teórico para la toma de decisiones con la finalidad de mitigar, prevenir y reducir riesgos.

This article intends to compile some results of investigations about vulnerabilities, threats and capabilities on disasters, in the districts of Cóbano, Paquera and Lepanto, in Puntarenas canton. For this, a bibliographic review wascarried out that allowed locating information on the subject in question, where some risk scenarios can be visualized. With this panorama, competent people and institutions can have theoretical support for decision making to mitigate, prevent and reduce risks.
